Plastic Snowflake Ring PP, PE, PVC, CPVC, PVDF

Plastic Snowflake Ring is a type of high-efficiency random packing with a unique snowflake-like structure that minimizes pressure drop, reduces back-pressure, and lowers energy consumption in stripping processes. Compared to traditional packings, it offers superior energy efficiency and allows for smaller tower designs. It is widely used in chlorine and bromine production, air separation, and water-cooling systems. We provide a full range of Plastic Snowflake Rings made from heat-resistant, chemically resistant plastics.

The Plastic Snowflake Ring is a high-efficiency plastic tower packing used in gas-liquid separation and scrubbing systems.
Named after its snowflake-like shape, it belongs to the random packing category and features a symmetrical structure with multiple radiating blades and high porosity.
It is ideal for applications such as desulfurization, HCl absorption, gas scrubbing, and biological filtration.

Key Features

  • Extremely high void fraction (up to 97%) ensures low pressure drop and increased gas-liquid contact area
  • Non-clogging design prevents compression lock or shifting during operation
  • Made from corrosion-resistant materials: PP, PE, PVC, CPVC, PVDF
  • Self-cleaning structure, ideal for high-pollution or scaling-prone systems
  • Excellent liquid distribution and mass transfer performance under high flow conditions

Application Areas

  • Flue gas desulfurization towers (FGD)
  • HCl or chlorine gas absorption systems
  • Biological filter towers and bio-scrubbers
  • Gas purification packing columns
  • Decarbonization, de-ammonia, and chemical scrubbing towers

Selection Tips

  • For towers with a diameter ≥ 800 mm, use the 90 mm snowflake ring
  • Prefer snowflake rings for gas velocities exceeding 1.5 m/s to reduce pressure drop
  • Use PVDF or CPVC for highly corrosive gases like SO₂ or HCl
  • PP material is ideal for biological systems due to its strong hydrophilic surface
