MBBR filter media has a long, well-documented track record in biological filtration. In MBBR biofilm technology, the biofilm develops inside engineered plastic carriers with a deliberately high internal protected surface. The carriers stay suspended and evenly distributed through the water column, so the process tolerates very high organic loading without clogging.
