BIO-BLOK Trickle Filter

The Bio Blok, a structured filter media, is extruded from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and intricately welded to create a three-dimensional grid processing unit. Its distinctive reticular tube structure on the surface provides a specialized culture medium for microorganisms. The surface of the Bio Block is intentionally rough, enhancing the ability of bacteria in wastewater to thrive on the carrier. These microbial strains exhibit broad capabilities in treating and degrading organic impurities within wastewater.

The surface of the Bio Block serves as the culture medium for specific strains, and its treatment efficiency hinges on its specific surface area. A larger specific surface area accommodates a greater bacterial population, resulting in enhanced treatment. Comprising interconnected net tubes welded to form square blocks, this media boasts numerous advantages, notably its ease of maintenance and near-immunity to clogging, even at flow rates ranging from 7500 to 10000 liters per hour per m2 of surface area.

Our Bio Block Media employs contact filtration or tubular settlers to diminish suspended solids (SS). At lower hydraulic negatives, particles are compelled to congregate, forming flocs. Based on a spiral shape, our Bio Block Media creates optimal conditions for particles to bind together.With time, Bio Block’s efficacy improves as bacteria accumulate and form a filter web between the net elements, effectively trapping finer particles. Its ease of cleaning without removal makes it an ideal choice for all pond applications.
